In close proximity to the Correctional Facility, this four-acre site in Kearny was home to an existing dilapidated 80,000 SF warehouse including a mezzanine. This building has been brought down to its steel structure and is being rebuilt to serve multiple requirements including shared storage, office space and vital technological requirements of the Hudson County Office of Emergency Management (OEM), the Hudson County Correctional Center and the Hudson County Prosecutor.

The building will include new systems of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical and a new façade along with a roof replacement. The site will receive a complete development and upgrade including paving, parking striping, concrete curbing, landscaping and site grading, filling and raising above the flood plain and constructing wetlands and bioswales for storm water management.

The building has been designed and will be constructed for LEED Silver Certification. Some highlights of Green components incorporated within this project include the following:

  • wind turbines
  • solar panels
  • geothermal system
  • radiant heat
